The positive side of the Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders had another losing season this year. It was the 10th losing season in a row, and the team is now tied with the Cleveland Browns with the longest drought. Buffalo Bill leads the league.

Well, Raider fans must look at the good things that the Raiders did this season, because the Raider fans are true fans. These guys have been with the team through thick and thin!

What must keep them alive is the fact that they always look at the positive side.

Bleacher Report pointed out some of positive things the Raiders had this season in an article released on Wednesday.

One was the fact that the Raider passing game was ranked 8th in the league. At one point, Carson Palmer was ranked third in the league this last season. That’s not bad for a team with a losing record.

The Raiders also had flourishing receivers on their squad: Denarius Moore, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and Rod Streater. They had some intriguing moments this season, and they could be ready to explode next season once Palmer gets fully accustomed to them.

The Raider passing offense was not bad either. Palmer was sacked just 26 times with 565 attempted passes. That is not a bad rate. Palmer had decent time to make his passes and had many of them caught.

Linebacker Phillip Wheeler was the leading defender for the Raiders this year, making 109 tackles. The Raiders need to re-sign that guy and fortify more linebackers like him to make the defense a whole lot better!

Last but not least, the kickers were amazing again. Sebastian Janikowski and Shane Lechler did their part like always. However, Lechler might leave due to salary cap. If the Raiders keep him, it would be a grand!

The article pointed out some of the bad and the ugly of the season, but it’s always better to see the bright side. Many will agree, especially the Raider fans!
