Time to get ready for the weekend with information for parents and caregivers on this week’s crop of films that begin opening on wide release, starting November 6, 2009, which includes ratings and trailers (if trailers are approved for all audience age levels) or clips, summaries, outlines, overview or synopses (just click on titles to view.)

As always, you are the single best judge for determining your child’s choice of entertainment.

Opening November 6, 2009 – The Box – PG-13, because of the film’s thematic elements, some violence and disturbing images. (This trailer is approved for all audiences.)

Opening November 6, 2009 - Disney’s A Christmas Carol– PG, because of scary sequences and images. (Several film clips available for viewing, no MPAA advisory rating on clips.)

Opening November 6, 2009 –The Fourth Kind– PG-13, because of violent and disturbing images, some terror, the film’s thematic elements and brief sexuality. (The first trailer has not been rated by MPAA, subsequent trailers approved for appropriate audiences only.)

Opening November 6, 2009 –The Men Who Stare at Goats– R, because of language issues, some drug content and brief nudity. (Synopsis as trailer approved for appropriate audiences only.)

Opening November 6, 2009 –Precious– R, because of child abuse including sexual assault, and pervasive language issues. (This trailer has been approved for all audiences by the MPAA.)
