The political series of 2012: Language is everything in politics

What most politicians and political junkies understand, is that in politics, language is everything.  Listening to Mitt Romney and Ron Paul introductions and speeches the other night, one can certainly tell who would be a better and possible candidate for the GOP, as Commander in Chief, from the contrasting views of  their rhetoric.  Romney introduction sounded very scripted, in that his wife had to prep the audience up, warming them up to Romney, in order for him to make his victory speech.  Having just won the New Hampshire primary, you would think Romney base and constituents, would automatically be fired up and ready to go, but clearly that was not the case Tuesday night.  Mrs. Romney introduced her husband and I quote, “let me introduce you to the man, who should be the next president of the United States of America.”  It sounds quite clear to anyone, that she herself may not necessarily believe, consciously, and unconsciously that Romney will and can defeat President Obama in the fall general election.  One would think that any candidate hoping to attain and to win any public office, would speak hopefully, as if they have already won.  But instead what we get from Romney and his camp is an unconscious pessimism or a wishful thinking message in his victory speech.

Listening to Mitt Romney speech the rhetoric seemed expected, in that the negative depiction he would try to paint of President Obama would be the theme of his message.  What surprised most was how he put Europe in his message, saying President Obama wants to turn America into a  socialist Europe.  How is this possible, when capitalism rule our nation?  Both Republicans and Democrats agree on it, with the only difference between the two parties, is the Left argument that the current capital system needs to be reformed, bridging the gap between the wealthy and poor, with the Right, feeling otherwise.  All the strides and positive changes Obama has made and is still trying to make, Romney painted as failed policies and calls for the repeal of most of them, especially Obamacare.  Mitt Romney, who side are you really on?  Are you really for “We the people?”  Romney even went on to depict the president as opposed to Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East.  Mitt Romney, why fabricate the truth and paint such a distorted picture of someone who is really in touch with the American people and world?

Ron Paul however, gave a speech, in which he did not even mention President Obama’s name, sticking to his message, which he has preached since 1988.  Ron Paul firm beliefs are that, we need to reduce government spending, shutting down the federal reserve, helping the poor help themselves, and bringing home the troops from all over the world.  Ron Paul, believes that our troops should not be the police for the entire world, which seems to be the case, with so many of our service men and women serving all over the world, on numerous bases we have.  Paul has managed to resonate a message among young intellects, that has finally hit home, at a time our nation is desperately looking for change.  It is interesting how his message is slightly similar to that of President to Obama, except with it comes to foreign policy.  Throughout the Republican Primary; Ron Paul has remained positive, running an intellectual and uplifting campaign, while his GOP opponents, specifically Mitt Romney, are running negative ads, and saying pretty much anything to become the Republican nominee.

After taking over a failing economy, when he took office in 2009; Obama has done all that he could do at the present, to help stimulate the economy and putting Americans back to work.  Yet, the economy went down a little more, after he took office but steadily have shown signs of improvement.  Nothing that happens so drastically, as the earthquake that hit the economy, could easily be brought back to its former state, no matter who is in office.  With the war being over, the nation can now save more money.  Cutting back on the right programs, not programs that propels America’s education system, and uplifting of individuals out poverty to prosperity are measures we can take.  Now the current administration can focus on the issues here at home, saving more and getting America economically back to where we once were.
