Donna McKechnie, who is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance in A Chorus Line, will open The Plaza Theatre with her one woman show, My Musical Comedy Life, on February 17-18, 2012. The actress, who has had her share of struggles and triumphs, will bring the entertaining story to life that will have guests reliving the highs and lows with her in this comedy hit.
In addition to her role in A Chorus Line, McKechnie has appeared in a number of other Broadway shows including Promises, Promises; Company; Sondheim: A Musical Tribute (which she also choreographed); On the Town; Sweet Charity (national tour); and State Fair, for which she won a Fred Astaire Award in 1996. Reviewing her recent one-woman show, My Musical Comedy Life, Ben Brantley wrote in The New York Times: "She remains the essence of the heroic drive that A Chorus Line celebrates."
Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for theshow, which include a post show reception on opening night, are $55 per person February 17, 2012 and $39 per person February 18, 2012. McKechnie will also hold a master class reception on Saturday, February 18, 2012 prior to her show. There are a limited number of seats for the master class so reservations are required.
