"The Physics of the Olympics!" is an on-line web class being offered right now through Sciencejim.com.  If you've never visited his website, it is most definitely worth the trip.  According to Mr. Science Jim, he has been teaching physics exclusively to homeschoolers for over six years.  His unique approach truly engages his students and encourages them to enjoy the science of physics.

The course is describes on his website as:  The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, and the wonder of physics! Believe it or not, the Olympics are a lot more than just amazing athletic achievements. There is a huge amount of great science going on as well. Join Science Jim for one or more of these Physics of the Olympics classes as we dive into the amazing world that lies underneath all amazing athletics. Classes are recommended for ages eight and up. Each class comes with a complete .pdf lesson plan that includes plenty of hands-on activities to try at home.

This course is only offered on Wednesdays beginning February 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 pm.  The dates are February 10, 17, 24 and March 3, 10 and 17.  Classes are $5.00 each or $25 for the entire session.  You can register here and you will also find a complete listing of how the course will be broken up by each individual date.
