The Pet Shop Boys are back with a new album Electric and to celebrate they will be stopping by The Strathmore Music Hall in North Bethesda on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Certainly the band will play some new songs to promote the new album. However, fans will be expecting the band to play some of their older favorites as well.
The band has been nominated multiple times for Grammy awards. The band may not have won a Grammy but the band has won several other awards. The Pet Shop Boys have won three Brit Awards and won an award from Q magazine. The band has achieved amazing success selling over 50 million albums. They are probably best known for “West End Girls.”
The Pet Shop Boys are far from a one hit wonder as they have had four number one hts in the United Kingdom and have charted over 40 top thirty hits there. “Heart,” “It’s A Sin,” and “Always on my Mind” are the other chart topping songs. The Music Center at the Strathmore is an intimate music venue offering amazing sound. The venue might be engineered for sound but it’s location is convenient. There s plenty of free onsite parking and METRO’s red line trains stop right next to the venue. This Thursday night the Strathmore combines an accessible venue, state of the art sound, and a great band in The Pet Shop Boys to create what promises to be an incredible show.
