If the ‘performing arts’ is your favored genre, then September in Metropolitan Miami should be quite an exciting time for you. Also to, if you have guests visiting from out of town, you won’t have to think too much about places to take them.
Can’t mentioned them all, but you may want take a peek at what's happening, firstly, at the Adrianne Arsht Center for the Performing arts of Miami Dade County. Also too, their October schedule is now posted featuring productions such as Metamorphoses and Mama Mia just to name a few.
Whatever you do, however, don’t fail to notice September at the Olympia Theater, Miami’s Guzman Center for the Performing Arts.
Appearing there for the first time (Sept. 14) is the Cuba Nu-Wave Festival under the sponsorship of the Verdado Social Club and the Olympia Theater. According to their promotional material:
“This unique mix of talent brings four fresh new takes on the evolving modern Cuban music scene. Pulling inspiration from the island’s past and present; Raul Paz, December Bueno, Lena Burke, and Gema Corredera move audiences to dance, celebrating the spirit of the Caribbean.
Also next month at the Olympia Theater (Sept. 21-22) the Miami Lyric Opera will present a double billing of Cavalleria Rustica, an Opera in one Act (music by Pietro Mascagni) and Suor Angelica, an Opera in one Act (music by Giacomo Puccini).
