When people ask Judythe Morgan where her story ideas come from it’s an easy answer for her. “I write about what I love and the places I’ve been. I let my adventurous spirit propel my writer’s muse.”
A romantic at heart, Morgan pens complex and emotional love stories that blend contemporary history, romance, and women’s fiction. Reviewers compare her debut novel, The Pendant’s Promise, to authors like Barbara Delinsky and Danielle Steele.
In writing Lillian Reed and Green Beret Ace Cabot’s love story, Morgan drew from her experiences as a young military wife.
She watched her friends’ husbands go off to Vietnam in the sixties and vowed if ever her newly commissioned husband received overseas orders, she’d follow him whether the United States Army authorized her presence or not.
If you’re old enough to remember the sixties, you know it was only a matter of months before she had to make good on her vow.
She sold their car, secured a passport and a tourist visa, and followed her husband to South Korea as an unaccompanied dependent. Once settled, she took a position as a Department of Army Civilian (DAC) for Eighth Army.
Now all these years later, those fond memories and a place she loved provided the impetus for Ace and Lily’s love story.
Her advice for budding writers: “Find the story lurking in your memories then get out paper or sit at your computer and WRITE. Let your mind soar and the words flow. You’ve a story to tell, too.”
THE PENDANT’S PROMISE

When they meet face-to-face, the years melt away and old passion returns. Only he believes she betrayed her promise to wait for him.
And, Lily’s convinced revealing the truth would mean losing her daughter and the only man she’s ever loved.
