While Bioware’s first two Dragon Age titles have as many differences as they do similarities, one thing that has remained constant is the ability for players to control an entire party of adventurers. As revealed by Game Informer on Friday, the developer has confirmed that the third entry in the franchise will continue this tradition and give fans control over a full group of characters.
Bioware’s Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah claimed that they believe tactical, party-based combat is the ultimate legacy of the Dragon Age series that the team plans to keep that intact within future installments of the franchise
As such, Dragon Age: Inquisition will once again feature a combat system in which players will direct multiple characters. Bioware revealed that they were going with somewhat of a mix between the more tactically-driven combat of Dragon Age: Origins and the contextual controls found inside Dragon Age 2.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to release at some point in 2014.
