The Pan African Film Festival 2013 (Save the Date)

Every year, the festival circuit curators select the best of international and independent films to screen at local theaters. This year The Pan African Film Festival will kick off the festivities with “Vipaka,” a psychological thriller starring Forest Whitaker, Anthony Mackie, Sanaa Lathan, and Mike Epps.

The festival runs from Thursday, February 7, 2013 through Monday, February 18, 2013. The festival will showcase over 150 films, and tickets are available online for purchase. In addition to the films, the festival will host special free events, such as, the Student Fest, Children’s Fest, a Fashion Show, and Panels & Workshops, that take on common topics in the film industry.

Special honorees for this year include, veteran actress, Lynn Whitfield; United Nations OIF, Flippe Savadogo; West Indian filmmaker, Christian Lara; actress, Nicole Beharie, (American Violet, Shame, 42); and actor, Omari Hardwick, (Middle of Nowhere, For Colored Girls).
