The Over-Niter RV Park offers no frills but a great rate

The Over-Niter RV Park is a no frills campground that is located half way between Knoxville and Chattanooga on I-75. The Athens, Tennessee location is nearly perfect for a half way stop on the way to Florida if you are coming from Indiana, Ohio, or even Michigan.

The park is small. There are only 16 sites. Our travels led us to the campground after dark. There was no problem with that, as there are registration envelopes at the office door. You simply fill out a short form and put your money in the envelope. The $24 a night plus tax is a great bargain for those who just need a stop for the night and don’t need (or want) swimming pools or miniature golf.

Pull through and back in sites are available. The sites are gravel and level. The road is constructed so that even big rigs or long trailers can maneuver easily through the park. All sites have 20/30/50 amp shore power stations, water and sewer hook ups.

WiFi is advertised as being available. However, the security key we were given by the onsite caretaker/manager did not give us access to the internet. This was a mild aggravation that probably could have been corrected by the owners.
This park does have a clean bath house at the back of the park and a laundry and some exercise gear in the office building.

Take EXIT 52 (Athens) off I-75. The park is about a half mile east of the interstate. The park is very quiet at night. The occasional log truck goes by, but we were not bothered by any traffic sounds. The park is open year round. Refer to the park website for details.
