The Other St. Patrick's Day Walk - Saturday Tigard Teddy Bear Walk

While thousands of runners head to the Shamrock Run on Sunday, walkers can take the easier path at the annual St. Patrick's Teddy Bear Walk in Tigard. Like all great St. Pat's Day traditions, it starts and ends at a pub. Walkers can register and start from McMenamins Greenway Pub, 12272 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, Tigard, OR.
Start time: 9AM-1PM
Finish time: Not later than 4PM
Distance: 5K (3.1 miles) and 10K (6.2 miles) routes.

Entry fees: Free, with optional AVA/IVV volkssport credit $3. You are invited to donate a new or gently used teddy bear for the Washington County Sheriff's Buddy Bear Program, prefer about 18" tall...these are given to children who are experiencing traumatic situations. Donation not required to enjoy the walk.

The walk is rated easy, level, and mostly paved. Walkers will explore the Fanno Creek Trail between Scholls Ferry Rd and Main Street in downtown Tigard, plus the neighborhoods in between. Almost 7K is on the Fanno Creek Trail thanks to the recent extension of the trail. 5K walkers will spend some time on the Fanno Creek Trail, in Tigard neighborhoods and area parks including a visit to Summerlake Park. 10k walkers can pick up an extra kilometer by adding in the Summerlake part of the 5K route.
