The 84th Academy Awards, known as The Oscars, aired on ABC this past Sunday, February 24th. The Academy Awards are the last big red carpet stage of the awards season. This is the creme de la creme for designers who are trying to make sure they get their last mark in so that they become first pick at the beginning of the next award season.
The big winners of the Oscars must have had the same winning designers because they all shared very similar designs. How? Well, that is easier to explain. Daniel Day-Lewis and Christoph Waltz, both winners for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, were wearing the very classic, bow-tie tuxedo. Even Ben Affleck, the huge end of the night winner with Best Director and Best Picture, was wearing his bow-tie tux. Simple, classic and very gentlemanly.
The female winners, Jennifer Lawrence for Best Actress and Anne Hathaway for Best Supporting Actress, both had on very similar simple, elegant and classic gowns. Both of these beautiful actresses were wearing flesh-tone color dresses. Both actresses had rich, beautiful hair colors that stood out as focal points atop the well lined flesh colors. Both women also chose sleeveless, topless gowns without any bold pieces around the neck. A simple sweetheart, and empire, lines held the top of the gowns, equally fitting to the beautiful women wearing them.
However the awards are won and the nominees, it cannot be denied that the big winners were sharing classic lines and styles. The bow-tie tux and flesh tone strapless gowns, held the highest titles along with the Oscar winners. Congratulations!
