The Oscar Noms are out!

Awards season continues to roll on with the announcement of the 2012 Academy Award Nominations, better known as the Oscars to you.  The announcement was made this morning at 8:30 AM EST by actress Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games) and Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences President, Tom Sherak live from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles, California.

There were some notable moments.  Hugo, the fantasy film by Martin Scorsese walked away with 11 nominations and Meryl Streep was nominated for her 17th Best Actress award.  The were also audible shouts of joy for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close which nominated for Best Picture and Max von Sydow was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. However the surprise of the day was the announcement of Jonah Hill's name for Best Actor in a support ing role.
