The Facebook page for the television series "The Originals" posted a few photos of the cast at Comic-Con. Posted on Tuesday, there were several people who wondered why Rebekah (Claire Holt) wasn't in any of the photos. There were also some fans who said they were disappointed that she would not be returning. So what is the truth? Is Rebekah really gone or will actress Claire Holt appear on season 2?
The reason why Claire Holt did not appear in the cast photos at Comic-Con is because she is no longer a series regular. She landed a new gig on the upcoming NBC drama "Aquarius." Deadline reported that she will be a series regular in the show along with David Duchovny. She will play the role of Charmain Tully in the drama.
However, that doesn't mean that Rebekah is gone forever on "The Originals." She briefly appears in the trailer for the second season. Executive producer Julie Plec recently teased that Rebekah will be back and she won't be empty-handed. As fans remember, last season Hayley gave birth to baby Hope. In order to protect the baby's life, Hayley, Klaus and Elijah had to pretend that the baby died. Hayley and Klaus ended up giving baby Hope to Rebekah.
There is a lot of speculation on what what she will bring, but many believe that she will return with the baby. It would be a good time for that since spoilers reveal that Hayley will not only be grieving the loss of her child, but will also have postpartum depression and will be feeling lost.
So there you have it. Even though Claire Holt will be on "Aquarius," she will also be appearing at least once in "The Originals" season 2. Look for Rebekah in the first three episodes of the new season.
