The first season of "The Originals" was a success and fans are excited that the vampire series has been renewed. So what can viewers expect in season 2? On May 14, Entertainment Weekly posted some information about what to expect on "The Originals" season 2.

The season has been interesting and intense, with a shocking season finale. While some fans thought that Klaus and Hayley's baby would die, others believed that she would survive. Even though the baby is alive, not many people expected the parents to send her away for her own safety. Watching Hayley die was also a shocker, but she has come back, only as a hybrid.

So what can be expected when "The Originals" season 2 airs? Executive producer Julie Plec spoke to EW and revealed some spoilers. Production on the second season began before the season finale even aired. Klaus will do whatever he has to to get rid of the witches that tried to kill his baby. While everyone else thinks that the baby died, Klaus gave her to his sister Rebekah. Will the baby be part of the storyline in season 2 of "The Originals?" Plec said that fans haven't seen the last of Rebekah and baby Hope, but it isn't going to be the main storyline. She also said,

"Season 2 is going to begin with what we call the werewolf occupation, which is Francesca thinks she’s in charge and has been actually carrying on making rules and exiling vampires and doing all kinds of nasty things, so the first thing on the table is of course going to have to be revenge. And then if and when that’s completed, the question is what becomes of those wolves? There’s a lot of wolves that Klaus was aligned with that were all looking to Hayley as their queen, but now she’s no longer a werewolf, she’s a hybrid, and there’s no love lost there for that species. So they’re going to be kind of stranded without a leader, and we’re going to have to see who steps in and takes that role of alpha. Will it be Jackson? Will it be Oliver? Will Hayley be able to win her way back? What’s going to solidify these wolves in one group, or now that they’ve won the Quarter, are they going to start in-fighting as well?"

On the season finale, Esther came back, but she will not be the only witch to appear. Lenore will show up in "The Originals" season 2, episode 3 and she will be someone else that Klaus will have to deal with. New characters to be introduced will include a paranormal psychologist and a rocker chick, WetPaint reported.

What did you think of the season finale? Are you looking forward to "The Originals" season 2? What do you think is going to happen with the characters?
