'The Originals' advertising team has really came up with a unique and even almost devious advertising team plan to lure "Pretty Little Liars" fans to change the channel during "Pretty Little Liars" to watch "The Originals".
The advertising team is going around the Disney owned ABC Family channel and bought advertising time on the local cable and satellite providers.. The kicker is that both shows air at the same time and "The Originals" are poking fun at the "A" advertising by each scene has a giant "A" in the word on the screen.

"Pretty Little Liars" has retaliated with a meme that says "Bite Me-A", get it.. bite me.. as well as a Twitter trend with #liarsunite.
"Pretty Little Liars" has been renewed for a fifth season. The shows fans consists of teens and twentysomethings and has created a spinoff with "Ravenswood" that is yet to be renewed for a second season.
"The Originals" is still in its first season and is geared towards the more mature fans of its parent show, "The Vampire Diaries". It has yet been renewed for a second season.
As you see the viewers cross somewhat with the twentysomthings but "The Originals" have to increase their viewership if they are going to be renewed for a new season.
The one time that the did air at the same time, last year, " The Originals" had over 1 million viewers more than "Pretty Little Liars"
