The Organization of Gamers & Roleplaying Enthusiasts (OGREs) CAR-PGa Google group. Colloquially known simply as the variants O.G.R.E.s, OGREs or Ogres, (full legal name - OGREs: The Organization of Gamers & Roleplaying Enthusiasts, Inc.), the organization is slowly expanding as groups (called chapters) take on the moniker. Chapters exist to help promote gaming and network together regional gamers. The Organization is a non-profit based in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
OGREs is hosting an interactive panel at OMGcon titled "RPG Myths, Lies, & Misconceptions" on June 11-13, 2010. It includes a simple timeline walkthrough of how and why role-playing games began to get bad reputation, from the infamous "Steam Tunnels" incident to Pat Pulling, Jack Chick, and Rod Ferrell. OGREs is inviting as many members of the non-gaming region in attendance (mostly pastors, though a couple of school guidance counselors have confirmed too), is to enlighten people on how they probably have misconceptions based on incorrect and in-some-cases outright false press about role-playing games.
