The Oregon Humane Society invites Bo Obama to the Doggie Dash (Photos)

The 26th Annual Doggie Dash organized by the Oregon Humane Society (OHS) will take place on May 11, 2013. In order to promote their biggest fundraiser of the year, the OHS launched a marketing video that has become one of the latest “must see videos” on YouTube.

The YouTube video is titled "An Invitation For Bo Obama from the Oregon Humane Society (and Ramona!)"

In this marketing promotion, a Golden Doodle named Ramona decides to contact the First Family’s dog, Bo Obama, and The First Dog gets a marriage proposal along with his invitation to attend the Doggie Dash.

As the story goes, Ramona dreams about becoming the First Dog-Lady. Ramona first tries to contact Bo Obama by Twitter and Facebook. When that doesn't work, she tries to call Bo on the telephone. When Ramona finds out Bo doesn't have a mobile phone, she decides to write him a letter.

“Dear Bo Obama, You are cordially invited to serve as Grand Dog Marshal of the Oregon Humane Society 2013 Doggie Dash. And Marry Ramona, if you like. We hope to see you May 11th at the Portland Waterfront!”

You can read Ramona’s complete letter in PDF format here.

Billed as Portland’s biggest party for pets and people, the OHS’s goal is to raise $450K for pets in need. It’s a day where people and pets can walk, run, eat, drink and simply have fun in downtown Portland. The OHS welcomes everyone, with or without a dog.

If you would like to participate in the event yourself, you can Register here. You may not want to miss it.

The Oregon Humane Society can be reached at P.O. Box 11364, Portland, OR 97211-0364 Telephone: 503-285-7722

The OHS now serves the needs of over 11,500 animals each year. With over 100 staff members and a volunteer force of over 1,000, they are dedicated to adopting 100 percent of the animals admitted to the shelter.
