The Obamacare Navigators are getting ready to go to work. They want to educate the population about all the benefits of Obamacare. And they want to encourage everyone to get involved.
Too bad Obamacare won't really work for many people. The problem with Obamacare is that it is real job killer. Maybe it is the law of unintended consequences. The problem is that employers are being encouraged to limit workers to 29 hours a week. If workers put in more than 30 hours a week, the employer has to offer health insurance or pay a $2,000 per person fine. That is if the company has more than 50 employees. And this may be a reason for companies not to hire more people to avoid going over the 50 employee limit. If they have more than 50 employees working more than 30 hours a week, that company must offer employees health coverage. Then there is the problem of the exchanges. They are supposed to encourage insurance providers to compete for the business of individuals or small businesses. Good luck with that. Many insurers really don't want to be involved with small companies or individuals, they want to work with big companies and organizations. So insurers won't compete for the business of small companies and individuals. It remains to be seen what the final effects of Obamacare will be but right now it does not look good.
