No website that isn't tied into the Right Wing blogoshere has reported on this story but it has been carried on sources like Alex Jones Infowars and the Washington Times, stating that Barack Obama has ordered the closing of private parks that receive no federal money, though it seems many are on federal land. One of the parks often mentioned was Mt Vernon, George Washington's home.
One reason I have no faith in the Right Wing news sources thus don't buy this cheap attempt at fictitious controversy creation, is their history of absolute dishonesty in the past. The whole birther thing for starters. Then the next week the Right Wing blogs are howling about Obama's Christian minister the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and how he is racially prejudiced then several weeks later they are calling Obama, Barack Hussein Obama, with the emphasis on Hussein, and pretending he is some sort of a Kenyan Mau-Mau Muslim, an intellectual and existential cross between Jomo Kenyatta and Muhammed the holy prophet of Islam. A majority of Republicans still actually believe Obama was not born in America and is a Muslim, both absolute falsehoods proven repeatedly to be so, unless you are Donald Trump or a member of the Tea Party and are literal proof some of our schools no longer teach critical thinking skills.
This latest talking point lie is a dog that won't hunt, because most Americans know Obama had little to do with causing this current government shutdown, least of all ordering what stays open and what closes. If the Republicans are so worried about visitors to Mt. Vernon they might try signing onto a clean Continuing Resolution to fund the government for another six weeks using Republican budget numbers while a compromise is worked out, including the debt ceiling that we are coming closer and closer to missing. The government shutdown could end tomorrow if Republicans chose to be honest, but don't hold your breath.
Unfortunately for the Right, America is a majority rules not minority rules nation. The Affordable Care Act was passed by both houses of Congress in 2010. It was signed by Obama and found to be constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court. If you on the Right don't like it try actually winning an election instead of all the dirty tricks and dishonest methods like voter suppression laws and ridiculously gerrymandered legislative districts that make some voters votes worth more than others even though that is supposedly unconstitutional in itself. If you did this you could then just repeal the law as America has done for over two centuries now.
But why abide by the law when you have convinced yourself you are an uber mensch and superior to the rest of us who have to work and sweat for a living, while you just give yourself and your rich friends, like the Koch brothers, tax breaks and call it wealth creation instead of wage theft. To heck with the fact a majority of Americans at least want the opportunity to try the Affordable Care Act before making a decision about its value.
Unfortunately, what Republicans are really worried most about is that it will prove highly successful and because of its popularity people might not vote for Republicans, thus you will be the minority party for a long time, like after the Great Depression caused by the same economic policies you are pursuing now.
By the way, when are you Republicans going to tell the truth about what you call Obamacare? The Affordable Care Act was a Right Wing Heritage Foundation creation in 1992 as a response to Hilary Clinton's attempts to reform the health care system. That is why Romney was the first elected official to use it in Massachusetts as governor, so this was no Democratic Party so called Socialist creation.
More and more Republicans look like the American Taliban. A group of extremist nuts who believes that only they have the right to govern and to determine what laws America passes and keeps on the books. The truth is you Republicans painted yourself into a corner politically because you believed the president would cave in to your extortionist demands yet again, only this time he didn't. You keep demanding he negotiate with you but not ten of you can agree what you want to do at a given moment. Remember we have to get something out of this but at the moment I don't really know what that is?
Man Up, Republicans turn out the lights this party's over. The Fat Lady is singing and the curtain needs to come down on this low rent soap opera.
