In an increasingly anti-social world, face to face communication just isn't what it used to be. Of all the conversations that take place in the US, 10% of those are through the Internet, and 39% of Americans socialize more online than in person.

So what does this mean for business? Sometimes in person conversations aren't always an option, so we rely on conference and video calls, email and instant messaging to communicate. These tools have made overseas business a greater possibility, but nothing is more effective in maintaining a business relationship than face to face interactions.

Communication goes much deeper than just choice of words, only 7% is communicated through actual words. The rest is nonverbal, via voice inflection and facial expressions. When talking face to face it's much easier to pick up on what people are trying to say; a luxury that a phone call doesn't have.

Face to face meetings are essential to maintain and ensure long-term business relationship. Take a look at this infographic for more on the subject and don't forget to like, share, and tell us what you think in the comments.
