If you’re frustrated because the number on the scale won’t budge or worse yet the number keeps moving in the wrong direction, there is a reason why you can’t lose weight. In fact, it’s the number 1 reason why you can’t lose weight… Simply put, your body is out of balance.
So what do I mean by that? Being out of balance means that your body is having trouble maintaining a state of homeostasis, which as you know is a state your body is constantly striving to achieve. When something in your body is off and it can’t find it’s way back to homeostasis particularly if this happens for an extended period of time, you will find it very difficult to lose weight.
If you have any signs of an imbalance for example; you feel tired and sluggish, you crave sweets, you depend on coffee to get you started in the morning, you have acne breakouts, you gain weight easily or you get depressed and lack motivation, then you might want to consider doing a detox or cleanse.
Cleansing your body is one of the best ways to restore balance and heal your body, which in turn improves your body’s ability to burn more calories and your body runs much more efficiently.
Some of the benefits of a cleanse are; rest your organs, purifies your body, it’s rejuvenating, good for weight loss, clears up your skin, slows down the aging process, enhances your senses, prevents disease and even treats disease.
Did you know that toxins are stored in your fat cells? Sounds kind of gross, but it’s true. The good news is that once you start eliminating toxins from your body and they are released from your fat cells – the excess weight you’ve been carrying around starts to melt away.
If you’re new to the idea of doing a detox, you may be wondering what exactly is detoxification and cleansing? Broken down into a simple term, detoxification is purification. Detoxification really is the process of clearing toxins from your body and clearing away excess mucus and congestion.
In a perfect world, your body would be able to detoxify itself regularly to remove impurities and keep you in tip-top shape. It is a natural part of your body’s daily functioning to eliminate waste and toxins.
The problem is that we live in a world that isn’t perfect and in fact it is becoming increasingly toxic. Think about all the environmental toxins we encounter on a daily basis; the pollution in the air we breathe, the off-gases from products we have in our homes like new carpeting, the cleaning products many of us use or are exposed to at work, and if you leave your house at all, think about the different chemicals you’re exposed to on the road, on the train, on the bus, on the airplane, and yes, on your bike.
What about the perfumes, lotions, mascara, lipstick, cover-up, shampoo, body wash, and sunscreen you apply to your skin? Many, if not most of these products contain chemicals that are unsafe and potentially toxic. Your skin absorbs them and sucks them right into your bloodstream.
Now think about the food you eat. If it’s not organic, you’re consuming pesticides along with your potatoes. If you eat conventionally grown meat and eggs, you’re consuming growth hormones, antibiotics and pesticides along with it. What about the crackers, chips, French fries, fast food, fried food, canned food, frozen food and fake food we are bombarded with everywhere we go?

These are examples of the toxins we are all exposed to on a daily basis. Do you really think your body can keep up with them all? The answer is, “NO!” - even if you eat really healthy, superior nutrition every day.
So, what can you do? Engage in a program that helps your body eliminate the chemicals and toxins safely and effectively. I can’t tell you how much better I began feeling once I started cleansing my body on a regular basis. It has made a dramatic difference in my health, energy, skin, digestion, and yes, my weight.
