The Next Top Spiritual Author Contest began late March with Round 1. The contest was created by Robert Evans and James Twyman, and supported by Hampton Roads Publishing and Randy Davila. Almost 2,800 contestants from around the world entered in the hopes of winning a book publishing contract with Hampton Roads Publishing and a $50,000 book promo package. Contestants posted either and audio or video pitch of their book.
Round 2 began late May with 271 contestants advancing. Advancements were based on the number of on-line votes received for each author in Round 1. The top 271 vote-getters moved on to Round 2 where contestants shared their book proposals and a sample chapter.
Today, Robert, James and Randy announced the 25 contestants who will advance to Round 3. Advancements were based partially on the number of on-line votes authors received, as well as votes by the contest panel. In Round 3, contestants will submit 2 chapters of their book for the contest panel to review and select the top 4 submissions. Those top 4 will advance to Round 4, where the final winner will be selected by the contest panel.
