If you have been keeping up with “The Next Food Network Star”, you know who, Melissa d'Arabian and Jeffrey Saad are. They are the two remaining finalists on the show.
Last night, Debbie Lee was eliminated and sent home. As shocking as it was, that was the decision of the judges, Bobby Flay, Susie Fogelson and Bob Tuschman. Surely having the people vote on the Food Network website, played a small part in the decision they made.
Seeing Emeril on the episode was a great surprise. The magnificent chef and entertainer that he is, America had to be pleased to see him premier on the program.
He is such a wealth of information, hearing him speak and give his advice had to be a little hard on the contestants nerves.
Seeing the clips from the movie, “Julie and Julia” was also a nice surprise. What a great promotion to the movie. Of course they showed some of the best parts to America in the clips, making us want to see it even more.
Giving credit where it is do, Melissa has grown so much since she started on the show. Hearing her speak about her personal trials touched the hearts of many who heard.
Oh, to make pastries like she can!
Jeffrey does make those who watch him feel at ease. It is anyone’s game!
Tune in this Sunday at 9pm to see who will win the prize!

Go Melissa!!!!!
Watching Melissa makes me strain. She seems so tense all the time. Jeffrey is much more at ease and would be someone I would actually watch. And please, enough about being the at home mom cook. She's a business woman for goodness sake. The prolonged story about her life was just tooooo much information. There are enough Rachel Rays on the Food Network.
good bye and good riddance debbi
You guys are funny :-) Thank you for your thoughts! Im glad you took time to read my article :-) Thank you =D
Something about Debbie just rubbed me the wrong way. If I had to pick one person I would watch a show with Jeffrey, he just puts out a good vibe.
I FEEL JEFFERY SHOULD BE THE "WINNER" AS HE IS VERY MUCH LIKE BOBBY FLAY. JEFFERY HAS A NICE SMILE AND CALMING DYNAMIC PERSONALITY. I HOPE AND PRAY TO "GOD" THE HE WINS. MELISSA IS TOO SURE OF HERSELF AND THINKS SHE KNOWS EVERYTHING . AS SHE HAS SAID SEVERAL TIMES "SHE'S NOT A CHEF" I AM A STAY AT HOME MOM, AND I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HER.
i believe jeffrey is the only choice! his personity is warm, his demeanor proffesioal, his knowledge extensive and his food consistently superior. even the risotto was like an off-night in a five-star restaurant, i would set my alarm for 4am to wat ch him. we don't need a manipulative soap actress like mellisa to rehash personal life tragedies on a cooking show. the cooking shows should be awarded to the chefs and jeffrey has been praised consistently for the quality of his foods. and i don't find him boring at all,in the same way michael chiarollo and tyler florence are not boring. i would never watch a show with mellisa; we watch food network for entertainment and information, not to remind us of the type a frenetic competitive stress we already deal with in our jobs and professions. jeffrey is comfotabile in front of a camera, and the fact that he has not altered his approach in the recent weeks of mellisa's theatrics shows integrity and confidence. my vote goes to jeffrey!
I like them both but would totally watch Melissa's show way before Jeffrey's.
I watch the show all the time. I truly thank Melissa should be The Next Food Network Star!
I think Jeffrey has what it takes , Melissa looks to nerves and not sure of her self..
I think Jeffrey has what it takes.Melissa looks nerves and not sure of her self.
I would like to see Jeffrey win. I believe Melissa did a good job of knocking off all the things that she felt would be on the show and practiced them. I don't think her repetoire will last very long.
Jeffrey has had the cooking school background and has more technique so he can build on techniques. I also like that Jeffrey won't come on and cry or tell us a sad story of his past and homelife.
Now that Melissa has moved to Kirkland WA and she has four kids under the age of four, I can see her nervousness increase and at some point she will snap. Melissa is too much like the female winner a couple of years ago who picked up and moved to France. Melissa moves about a bit and is too unstable. Tears are not attractive on a 40 year old.
Thank you all so much for sharing your thoughts with me! (and the rest of us)
Tonight is the night....We are looking forward to seeing the winner!!!!
I couldn't watch Melissa's show. Her voice and eyes are nerve-wrecking. Jeff has charm, the looks and the skills. He has never varied his style or approach. GO JEFF!
MELISSA HAS CAMERA APPEAL. SHE IS INTERESTING AND HOLDS MY ATTENTION. HER KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT PEOPLE LIKE IS RIGHT ON. SHE TAKES TO ME THROUGH THE CAMERA. I FEEL I CAN COOK WITH EASE ALSO. I AM A GOOD COOK. WRITING AND ILLUSTRATING MY OWN BOOK. SUCCESS MUST BE EASY FOR FOLKS AND THERE ALL THE TIME. YOUR FOOD IS ON STAGE AS WELL AS YOU ARE.
Based on the timiing the fan vote had nothing to do with Debbie leaving. As I understand it the final show was already taped (April)before this season's show even started showing. I too wanted Debbie out and am glad the judges finally saw the light and let her go.
I'm happy with Melissa's win and can understand how her style of cooking would appeal to working women and harried homemakers, especially with the financial situation nowadays. Here's an idea, though--offer Jeffrey his own show. I'm sure there are many home cooks like me who would love to learn how to use the more exotic ingredients he proposed for his show.
