The growing trend among middle school and high school teenagers in Florida is adapting to a vegan eating plan. Up to 30% of the children enrolled this year in the Miami-Dade school district is vegan or vegetarian. Their parents have requested their special diet be honored, and the school lunch program give vegan and vegetarian children healthy, alterative foods.
