Square Enix confirmed today that the “Tomb Raider” reboot from Crystal Dynamics officially released today on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The new game is a fresh start for the franchise and features a young Lara who isn’t as skilled or sure of herself as fans are familiar with.
In the “Tomb Raider” reboot, Lara Croft is stranded on a harsh island after a ship wreck and the young heroine must learn to use many of the trademark skills for the first time as struggles to survive. Players must learn to hunt for food and avoid the treacherous environment of the island. Lara isn’t alone however, and must also fight dangerous human adversaries who are also present on the island.
“Tomb Raider,” from Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics, is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. The new game hopes to breathe new life into the adventure franchise and introduce fans to a younger, more vulnerable, Lara at the same time.
