Yesterday, I had a great conference call with the folks at Truli media.com and we came to an agreement on a few new audio streams that will begin for the Christmas season and will start at the beginning of December. We will be putting together classic programming with newly developed Christian teach-talk programs that we are either producing or being the curators of. A second audio streaming channel is being developed to focus on our music publishing company, Urban Praise Movement. The music channel will be bringing worship leaders and pastors who write original songs and who record on a regular basis. UPM is a BMI licensed publishing company and we are reviewing many worship leaders audio and video releases. In addition we are talking to an internet station that has collected what the curator and presenter calls “anointed” recordings and Christian Classics. Another channel that we are developing is the Chapter X Chapter Channel; where we work with publishers; and produce a daily radio stream of audio books. All of these are great new additions to a strong feeling of responsibility that I have in my career and calling. We are the media that is feeding a hungry culture.
Cause Central and Likewise spots
I know what you are asking right now: “Who is going to pay for all of this?” One answer is that we are starting a Christian Media Fund that specifically raises money to fund Christian Media products. This will be a coalition of ministries; broadcasters and programmers who will use the NPR and PBS models of private donors; public networks; grant writing and foundations. I am starting Cause Central a non-profit media fund that focusses in on airing and networking the best programming that we have to offer. The second area that we are working on is that every program that we are creating; producing and syndicating comes to the studio with up to 14 sponsors an hour. With my team of award winning writers; producers and agency personnel; we would create; produce and distribute advertising for every program; music set; and audio book that would be the creative; production and distribution model of Christian Radio; on-demand effort and program development for years to come.
The agency is called Likewise. When programmers and content providers bring advertisers that they believe in; and the advertisers believe in the content providers; and we take a creative approach to their spots; the ad firm wins; the broadcaster wins; the programmers win and most of all the reader; the listener and the viewer win. Our commission at Likewise is always 20 percent. The rate card is simple and doable for every market. I hope you noticed that there is no rate to air programs with an advertising revenue model!
