Another year is coming to an end and most of us are finding that old cliche of time passing by quickly alarmingly true. My son is five years old and I am now among the parents who shake their heads in disbelief about how fast time, indeed, goes by. I have many friends with older children, (much older children) and they say the cliche is deafening at this point.
With all the changes and thus, flexibility, that growing children demand, StrollerStrength, the Las Vegas based stroller exercise class, has been revised. The focus has been broadened to include all moms, whether children are stroller aged or not.
My own son is in kindergarten and is absent from StrollerStrength on most days now. He does attend when he is off from school. Although he is delighted to be at StrollerStrength, he is no longer quite content to sit for the duration of the class, so I allow him to play close to the group with the other kids his age. As long as the children listen, remain near the group, and are safe, this has been a successful formula. This allows the mothers to get in a great workout and the older kids to have fun, as well.
StrollerStrength is still a whole body interval style workout that includes many different tools and variety to acheive cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility fitness results and fun. StrollerStrength places quite a bit of emphasis on core strength and body awareness, a must for all moms.
I am told by past StrollerStrength participants that there is a certain bonding that occurs in class. I agree that there is a feeling of acceptance and understanding, knowing just some of the challenges we all seem to have as moms, whether children are present or not!
