If you actually remember the song, "Only in America" by Jay and the Americans you are officially eligible (or about to be eligible) for Senior Citizen discounts. I really liked that song when it came out and enjoy it still. It's lyrics express the innocence and optimism of the US right before the Kennedy assassination changed this country forever.
Only in America could a kid from anywhere go to sleep a pauper and wake up a millionaire.
Oh, America, how life has changed in the last 50 years- now Only in America:
Can we elect an African-American to the highest office in the land, proving we're racist.
Can people who want to protect the 2nd Amendment be called reactionaries.
Can an Administration lie repeatedly (with no consequences) after promising to be the most ethical and transparent ever.
Can a law promised to provide uninsured people with health-care insurance result in millions of insured people losing their insurance.
Can the government use the IRS as a club to attack their opposition with no voices raised in protest.
Can four citizens, including an Ambassador be murdered and no one is held responsible.
Can a President say he will hold people accountable for failures, then hold no one accountable.
I have more but I have to get ready for Presidents' Day. Someone has to check on the 30-40 previous Presidents who have to be spinning in their graves, not to mention the hundreds of thousands who died preserving freedoms that are being casually dumped in the ash heap of human history.
Will the last one out please turn off the lights?
