Photographers.... Prepare to feel like a 6 year old little girl wanting a pony! Apple introduces a new piece of innovative technology that isn't laptop, nor iPhone. Think Kindle on CRACK! The new iPad is 1.5 lb, 1/2 inch thick, with a capacity for 32 or 64GBs of storage. It has 10 hours of battery life and amazingly can sit for a month on standby without needing to be charged. With a beautiful 9.7 inch high-resolution screen, it's perfect for movies, books, games... just about anything! Apple CEO Steve Jobs described it as "so much more intimate than a laptop and so much more capable than a smart phone." And despite the large price tag some expected it to have, it starts at only $499!
So, what can it do for us photographers? With new eye-fi memory technology, they have found a way to transfer photos from the camera, straight to the iPad, making it a great tool in the field. Imagine it. Quickly displaying client photos on a gorgeous, half an inch thick, futuristic piece of technology right at their fingertips. Or, even just to give your portfolio a little extra kick.
Perhaps Adobe will design a program that allows Photoshop to run on its operating system! There's no stopping the possibilities of this.
