The new interactive video of Twitter for Apple iOS smartphones: The Vine app (Video)

The crew up at Twitter headquarters have been quiet on anything new for Twitter and its app for awhile now, but last week Twitter released the new way to communicate with video in six seconds or less called the Vine app for Apple iOS smartphone devices.

The Vine app from Twitter is the hot new way to communicate which allows you to video yourself on Twitter. You simply download the app from Apple's secure App store and install it on your phone. Once installed it will ask you to connect the Vine app to Twitter with your login credentials. Now you are free to record your video for broadcast to the world. You simply record a video using your camera app and you hold down the record button and release it once you are done. The videos recorded on the Vine app will be shown within your regular text tweets.

If you are familiar with Instagram, Vine's interface is very similar to it and is setup the same way. Once your video is recorded on Vine it will stay on the app and can be shared across Face Book and Twitter. You can of course follow people's Vine video's the same as Tweets. Even with the recent questionable videos being shown on Vine, people are flocking to the app and expressing some great creativity with their six second Vine app videos. Also, Face Book is releasing their own version of video sharing to compete with the Vine app.

Currently, the Vine app is free and you can only use Vine on Apple iOS devices. There will soon be an official Android version. For now, Android users will have to make use of the Vine Peek app. This lets you view Vine videos, but will not let you record or post until the official Android version is released. With this latest way to interact across social media channels, that is upon us, we all would be wise to take it in stride.
