Bacon lovers, rejoice! There is a festival in Ohio that celebrates the joys of bacon and its many food uses. To take part in this tribute to this tasty delight just head to Dayton, Ohio for the 2nd annual Bacon Fest being held on Sunday, August 17. It is approximately a 3 hour, 20 minute drive from Cleveland.
Bacon Fest Taking place at the Fraze Pavilion in Lincoln Park Civic Commons, this free event is being sponsored by the Restaurant Raiders, a monthly foodie group that supports local restaurants by bringing a crowd to that restaurant once a month.
Visitors to Bacon Fest will be able to sample cuisine from 17 local restaurants all revolving around bacon including desserts like bacon chocolate cake.
There will also be plenty of bacon related foods available for purchase at various restaurant booths on a "pay as you go" basis.
After pleasing your palate with a variety of bacon food items, visitors will be able to enjoy free live musical entertainment with performances on the Fraze Pavilion stage by the Linden Davis Group, the Classic Rock Experience, Skeptical Cats and The Devonshires.
Bacon Fest starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 17. Admission is free.
