It’s that time of year again and the kids somehow know it… they are already asking about cotton candy, horseback rides, and ferris wheels.
But there are far more offerings for fairgoers than just junk food and rides. When you need a break from the heat, remember to check out all the cool exhibits inside the fair’s air conditioned buildings. On that note, there is still time to get in your kids’ exhibit entries!
Does your family have any odd-shaped veggies in your garden? Turn them into a farmer or farm animal!
Do you have a family pet that looks like you or another member of your clan? Submit a photo together and enter it!
Does your child love to help in the kitchen? There are always the food contests at the fair and cooking is a great way to spend quality time with your child, teaching homemaking skills, math skills, and having fun. (It also helps picky eaters learn more about foods and often leads to new food discoveries!)
Whatever your hobbies or style, there is something for everyone at the fair. We encourage you to participate and get involved to see all that the fair has to offer!
The 2014 Nevada County Fair will be open August 6th through August 10th at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. You can purchase tickets in advance at a discounted rate of $6.
