On Saturday, March 8, 2014, the N.E.T organization hosted its' 1st annual fundraiser at Family Focus Lawndale in Chicago, Illinois. N.E.T is an acronym for Networking Eternally Together. The organization is supported by a collaboration of board of directors and members: Anthony Jackson - Founder/Executive Director; Torino Coleman - President; Derrick Thomas - Treasurer; Bruce Washington - Secretary along with supporting members: Kenneth Armstrong, Lydell Hodges, Tina Jackson, Gregory Peterson, Rick Taylor, Jennifer Thomas, Burdie Patrick, and Tyrone Murphy. All of these individuals are passionate about adhering to the mission of N.E.T as well as invested in the overall outcomes.
According to the members, the mission of this organization is to facilitate personal growth by empowering youth to make positive life choices through mentoring and training for career development strategies. Their goal is to foster enhanced self-esteem, spiritual awareness and character building. Additionally, the N.E.T organization provides youth with marketable job skills that will afford them the opportunity to become productive members of society. This organization is off to a great start! Their 1st annual event was a tremendous success. It consisted of music, food, raffles, live entertainment and an overall wholesome time. There were many supporters present to help kick off this event. Guest included Author, Pamella E. Coffey (Tea With My Sisters); praise dance group, RUAH - Prophetic Ministry of Movement, notable politicians, family members and friends whose sole purpose was to cheer on the N.E.T organization as they aim to toss their net over the Chicago land area to catch and embrace youth who would greatly benefit from their services.
