My husband and I love mussels so we tried a new place last weekend in Bay ridge Brooklyn called Mussels & More. They have a large variety of mussels at reasonable prices. We got the Bisque which included lobster in the sauce. It was delicious. We also split their seafood salad, which was great too.
Afterwards (in honor of winter) we went to a bar called Camp in Carroll Gardens because they served smores there. The bar is reminiscent of summer camp. They made it look like a cabin with scenes of the woods and a pac man game, board games and a canoe. We were pleasantly surprised by the smore tray they brought us. We expected one smore but they gave us am entire serving tray with a package of graham crackers, two Hershey's chocolate bars, a bunch of marshmallows, bamboo sticks and a little bunson burner thing with sternum to serve as our fire so we could drink and toast our marshmallows. For $16 we had a lot of smores and it was really fun. This place would be an original fun date spot in winter, so check it out.
If you are too lazy to go out, you can make your own mussels together at home. Check out these recipes on allrecipes.com: http://allrecipes.com/recipes/seafood/shellfish/mussels/
You can also make your own smores from your stove or using a candle or even your microwave or broiler:
