There is a bunch of news to go along with some great show listings this coming week, July 21-27 in Orlando local music. Remember, it’s not always necessary to leave the house in order to support local music, but then again why not choose that option as well?

There were several band announcements over the last week. Orlando band Old Again just signed with Artery Recordings. Planetary Funk Machine announced today on their Facebook that they are calling it quits at the end of July. East Side Rock announced that their drummer Lee Nigh would be leaving the band after their next show and then new drummer Luis Brooks Torres will be filling that slot.

On Give Forward there is a fundraiser for Orlando area singer/songwriter Sean “Legacy” Maloney. His friends are trying to raise money to help him buy a new leg. They are well on their way to the $10,000 goal, but still have a way to go.

Orlando singer/songwriters Reggie Williams and Matthew Fowler are teaming up and have launched a Kickstarter. The two have plans for a split EP and national tour that they hope to fund. They have until August 13 to hit their $6,000 goal.

Singer/songwriter Kristin “Kam” Grice has a flexible funding Indiegogo campaign underway. She is hoping to raise $1,500 to finish production on her EP, “All Or Nothing.” Her campaign runs until Aug 2.

The Orlando Sentinel has an online Battle of the Bands underway. Voting is taking place now to reduce the list of 32 bands to 16. Music fans can vote more than once for their favorites.

There are a couple of big things for local music fans on Tuesday and neither one involves leaving the house. Anyone’s Guess is releasing their new music video “Hunter” online and hopefully Carly Jo Jackson makes it through judgment week on “America’s Got Talent” Tuesday night.

Saturday afternoon at Fashion Square Mall is the premiere for the short film “The Trade.” The Indie film features music from Orlando bands Calefactor and Ideal ZerO.

Saturday night Orlando band Don't Scare the Dog is celebrating their 20 anniversary with a live DVD release show at the Abbey. Also on Saturday is the release celebration for “Closer Than You Volume 3” at The Social. There will be live music by Control This, Victims of Circumstance, Duppies, The Apes FLA, YugoSKAvia! and The Ambassadors.
