'The Muppets' sequel has a new title and details

Details on “The Muppets” sequel have finally hit the internet, and Collider, via press release today, has the news.

The new film will be titled “The Muppets…Again!,” and stars Ricky Gervais (“The Invention of Lying”), Tina Fey (“Date Night”), Ty Burrell (“Dawn of the Dead”), and Ray Liotta (“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”).

The Muppet gang this time around is on a successful tour in Europe but gets into trouble when Kermit gets confused with his jewel-heisting doppelganger, Constantine.

Gervais plays Constantine’s sidekick, Fey plays a Russian prison guard, and Burrell plays an Interpol agent, but there isn't word yet on Liotta’s role (maybe he will play a security guard again as a nod to his last cameo).

What this really tells audiences is that the Muppets are going to be the main focus this time around as opposed to the last film (I guess people felt like the Muppets didn’t get the full focus).

The film opens March 21, 2014.
