New York City may not be known as the friendliest city (at least not on the express subway during the commuter rush), but there's no denying that there's something super-romantic about the city; the lights, the cozy restaurants, the park -- they all come together to make for a spot that's just bursting with romance. So it's no surprise that couples often find themselves in NYC to celebrate Valentine's Day. Here are three spots in the city that are perfectly romantic for this Valentine's Day.

1. Central Park

Central Park is one of the most beautiful city parks in the world -- if not the most romantic -- hands down. Escape the hustle and bustle of the cab-packed streets and tourist-packed sidewalks with your honey by heading to the park. Enjoy a quiet carriage ride through the park at night, take a spin around Wollman Rink hand-in-hand, dine in the Boathouse Restaurant overlooking the lake, or share a kiss on Bow Bridge.

2. Empire State Building

Views of the Empire State Building are inspiring enough, but being atop the building -- where there are sweeping views of the city from all angles -- is breathtaking. Open till 2 a.m., the iconic building encourages couples to the head to the top after a romantic meal or stroll. And this February 14th, it will certainly be aglow with red lights for the holiday.

3. Grand Central Station

Commuters, romantic? This one may not be as obvious, but standing together amidst the crowd can be quite the bonding moment. You can even star-gaze in the gorgeous station -- the ceiling is painted with constellations. And don't forget about the famed Oyster Bar; not only is it delicious, but oysters are the perfect aphrodisiac!
