The Modern Tea Party and Tea Baggers: December 12th 2009, Time to take a stand.

On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. This was yet another sign that people were entirely upset with government attempting to force its will on a people it was meant to represent. Now to be fair the government at the time was a monarchy, however, there was also a Parliament and governors (representatives) of the people for that government.

Over the last year and more movements to re-engage the American people in the politics surrounding the decisions being made that are affecting us all has been made on many levels. ” WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A Republican House member (Joe Wilson) shouted, "You lie" during President Obama's health care speech to Congress on Wednesday, and members of both parties condemned the heckling.” Other politicians have come out and strongly opposed many of the things being done by this current governing body the duly elected  Representatives of the people. The people themselves are protesting in various ways, anti-war protestors continue to fill the streets, and yet the media strangely remains silent. Anti Tax, and spending protestors also fill the streets, and yet the media and the leadership rarely have a thing to say. In fact many times all you hear is “chirp, chirp, chirp” of the crickets.

Yet the estimates of people protesting who have never protested before, range anywhere from a few hundred thousand, to a few million. Anyway you look at it people are not happy! Across this great nation, people are beginning to see that politicians have sold out the very future of this nation from under us over the last few decades, and that neither the Democratic Donkeys nor the Republican Elephants are able to claim innocence in this. So why should each of us decide it is time to stop sitting on the sidelines in the “comfort” of the homes we may not be able to afford shortly?

Freedom and the true American dream, this should be our reasoning.

When this nation was founded, it was done with the idea that every citizen, have the ability to strive for something greater than him or her. So ask yourself a question, the most important question you have asked in years.

What are you doing to ensure this ability continues through your children?

Tomorrow in Benson Az, Jesse Kelly, and Jim Deakin will be speaking to a group of freedom supporting Americans! On the 12th of December people will be standing up to protest that which we can still change.  We will be standing together side by side from various backgrounds, races, religions, and economic status. We will be standing to promote FREEDOM!

Don’t let another day pass you by simply because you are unwilling to take a stand for what you believe in!
