The Missouri Comets return to Independence this weekend

The Missouri Comets take on the Milwaukee Wave on Friday December 13 at the Independence Events Center. The second home game for the Comets is a rematch of the season opener in Milwaukee when the Comets lost in overtime. The game is dedicated as the popular “Day of Giving,” when players and fans can give back to those in need. Benefiting from the event are Leo Gibson’s Kick for Christ, Byron Alvarez’s Ball Throw, Coady Andrews’ Toca City Soccer Outreach and Lucas Rodriguez and the Galaxy Girls with Blair’s Foster Socks.

The Aftershock Bar and Grill is located at 5240 Merriam Dr. in Merriam, Kan. On Friday night at 7 p.m., the club presents the School of Rock 2013 Holiday Preview Party starring The KC House Band, The KC Little Wingers, Bent, Staff Infection, Teacher Band, and The Kids of Rock 101. At 9 p.m., the club features the Friday the 13th Concert by Slam Radio with Burning Tide, Civil Symphony, and Star Crows. Saturday night at 7 p.m., the Razorwire Halo presents The Occurance Launch Party with Red Velvet Crush, DJ Psyence Fiction, Arya, and Mad Libby.

Davey’s Uptown Ramblers Club is located just south of downtown at 3402 Main in Kansas City. Friday night the club presents Hooligan Holiday Pre Party with Uncouth, The Bad Ideas, and guest DJs at 9 p.m. Saturday night at 9 p.m., the club will feature General Bastard (from The Mentors & the movie Thankskilling), Counterfeit, Grovehuffer, 2hi2die, and IlDaMorte.

Kelly’s Westport Inn located at 500 Westport Road, in the Westport Entertainment District, will feature on stage Flannigan’s Right Hook Friday at 10 p.m. At 10 p.m. on Saturday night, Old No. 5s take the main stage. Kelly’s Westport Inn has an outdoor dining and drinking area located on the rooftop of the business.

The RecordBar is located at 1020 Westport Road in the Westport Entertainment District. On Friday night at 7 p.m., the club presents Gardienne and John Scott Young, and at 10 p.m., Radkey, Drop a Grand, and Stiff Middle Fingers. On Saturday at 10 p.m., the Club Wars take the main stage.

The Riot Room is located just north of Westport Road at 4048 Broadway in the Westport Entertainment District. On Friday night at 9 p.m., Evolve and Electric City presents: California Voodoo 5th Annual Holiday Bash. On Saturday at 8 p.m., the club presents Cannibal Christmas with Gornography, Unmerciful, Marasmus, and A Plague in Faith take the main stage.

The Uptown Arts Bar is located at Valentine and Broadway near the Uptown Theater. The bar is a celebration of the performing arts in the Kansas City area. On Friday from 7 to 11:59 p.m., the club hosts the Girl 2 Girl Social. From 8 to 10 on stage will be live music with Alyssa Murray. On Saturday at 7 p.m., the club features the Holiday Fundraiser for Likeme Lighthouse.
