The Mississippi Tea Party is one of 26 states that are in opposition to "Obamacare". The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, has been ruled unconstitutional by a federal district court, and will be reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court in mid-2012. In opposition to the Health Care Act, the Mississippi Legislature decided not to set up an Affordable Care Act health exchange in 2011, and instead decided to work with Leavitt Partners of Utah to set up an exchange by August 14, 2012. The Mississippi Tea Party contends that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 is unconstitutional, and that an ACA exchange will destroy the private market for health insurance in Mississippi.
I am fourty-one years old, and every president in my lifetime has promised to have universal health care for all American citizens, and this president, Barack Obama was the only one to deliver, and he did it with a Republican controlled Congress! President Obama's plan is almost a carbon copy of the one that Mitt Romney put in place when he was governor of Massachuttes, and I wonder if this kind of reaction would have taken place if Romney, Newt, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, George W. Bush, or even Bill Clinton were president? Probably not! Meanwhile, while this state and 25 others continue to fight the legality of the bill, people are still without health care, and the elderly and children are suffering the most!
