The Minnetonka-based company's innovative case gains attention at CES

Every year the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada reveals novelties in technology. The event showcases technological innovation in consumer electronics held between Jan. 8-11. The Minnesota company, Canopy, has made quite the buzz around its revolutionary Sensus case that brings additional interactive controls beyond the touchscreen capabilities of the iPhone.

The Canopy Sensus case introduces new touch technology on the iPhone’s reverse and lateral sides. Beyond the protection it offers allows the user for more intuitive functionality with seamless integration.

“Canopy’s vision skyrocketed along side the rise of the smartphone. Our first protective case led us to eager users who wanted more ways to interface with their phone. Sensus, Canopy’s touch-sensitive smartphone case, is the result. Sensus introduces touch technology to iPhone’s back and right side in a sleek protective case. Sensus is the next generation accessory for apps,” according to the Canopy’s company page.

Its a pioneering concept to bring into the mobile arena particularly for cases for smartphones. The touch-capacitive sensors will have manufacturers, experts and analysts looking at how this amazing accessory was put together.

New coverage from around the web on CanopyWhen do we know when good publicity strikes? Turns out just 24 hours from the event kicking-off the noise of canopy’s case has made quite aftershock. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal featured an article on the company earlier today headlined “Canopy's iPhone case gets CES spotlight”.

The local daily Pioneer Press had its own report “Minnesota startups join hot iPhone accessory market” with extensive information on the product and background.

TechCrunch included a thorough report “Sensus case adds back and side controls to the iPhone” on the company’s initiative with the accessory. It asserts the price and expected release in the summer of 2013.

There is an expected attendance of 20 Minnesota companies at the CES event and have plenty of projects to show off and talk about. The Sensus Case is an innovative accessory with plenty of potential to develop into other technologies.
