The Midwest DJ and Urban Music Conference III is organized by DJ Dimepiece (hip-hop DJ for Cincinnati's urban radio station 101.1 "The Wiz) and The Core DJs. It will be held Friday, May 21st, and Saturday, May 22nd, 10:00pm for both nights. The location will be The Duke Energy Convention Center, 525 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. The purpose of the event is " to join the Midwest with the urban music industry's top tastemakers" .According to the official website of the conference, the first two conferences had over 400 DJs and music industry professionals attend.
The event is scheduled for two days, and the organizers stress that Cincinnati natives and Ohioans interested in the music industry should come and network with music industry folk that you may not have a chance to see regularly (seeing as the last music label based in the Midwest, Motown, left Detroit in the early 1970's).
To show how real the event and DJ Dimepiece is, here's a sampling of who's confirmed to attend the conference:
Tony Neal - CEO of The Core DJs
Drew Rives - Def Jam/Island Def Jam Records
La Ronn Harris - Atlantic Records
Fate Eastwood - Super Producer for Yo Gotti, All Star, Letoya Luckett
