When I tell you I spent almost the entire weekend at the Time Traveller’s Weekend at the Midsummer Magick Renaissance Faire of Southern Connecticut, I am not exaggerating. On both Saturday and Sunday, a group of friends and I headed out to the faire, where we had an amazing time.
We got to meet and talk to all sorts of vendors and I bought some unusual magickal items. I have a stack of cards in my bag that I picked up from the many talented folks selling their very creative wares.
Of course, one of the best parts of the faire was finally meeting its creator Jeff Mach. But right up there with that were the performances. I think I can speak for all of my friends when I say that our absolute favorite was the show by Daniel GreenWolf, Wyck, The Graces, and Katie Kat. (Yay, NYU! I'm an alum. Oh the talents we learn there; our familes are so proud. . . .) Although I’m not so sure my faire-going friends are entirely proud of the fact that they have been singing a song about Dan the squirrel and his nut for the last couple of days. . . .
Because of my loving husband with a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor, I even had a chance to be a part of this performance. Not that I didn’t enjoy it immensely. Um, love you, honey . . .
Anyway, indeed, the best part of the festival is the people. And I say “is” because there is one more weekend coming up (July 31 to August 1); this one dedicated to, well, in the words of festival creator Jeff Mach:
The Midsummer Magick Faire's final weekend looks to make gossamer the walls between the worlds, and open us to the realm of the Fae.
It's The Midsummer Magick Faerie Festival: "Down The Crooked Fairy Lane."
Additional performers this upcoming weekend will be: Jenna Greene, Matt DeBlass, Lilith Lore, and Psyche Corporation.
The faire gates open at 11 and I hear the weather will be a bit more temperate--not that the hot weather stopped any of the festivities the last couple of weekends.

Unfortunately, it looks like this might be the last of the Midsummer Magick Renaissance Faire of Southern Connecticut, so make sure you go out and bid it the proper farewell.
However, in no way is this the end of Jeff Mach. There will still be the Wicked Faire (and from what I understand, the event hotel is almost entirely booked) and the Steampunk World’s Fair. And now, there will also be The Alternative Bridal Expo and Alternative Fun Expo (working title). Of course, I joke with Jeff that that the bridal expo is two years too late—I’m sure no one at his expo would chase my mom and I down the isle with a cream that would cover up tattoos on your big day. (Much to my mother’s credit, she told off that lady. Go, Mom!)
So check out this weekend’s The Midsummer Magick Faerie Festival: "Down The Crooked Fairy Lane" and stay tuned for more Jeff Mach events.
See you amongst the Fae.

And I immensely enjoyed you tying me up in front of a large crowd, including your husband... hmmm... I'm sure there is something inappropriate there but I can't put my finger on it.
In any case, thank you for the kind words and awesome article!
-Much love,
Daniel GreenWolf
