No doubt traveling can be a hassle! Fear not as the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority commemorates Black History Month with New Program Celebrating Performing Arts! Local African-American Artists perform at Dulles, Reagan National during the month of February. The series of lunchtime concerts feature local performers, musicians, singers, dancers and other artists and will entertainment the passengers throughout the year.
The next fascinating performance by Teri S at Reagan National is scheduled for Wednesday, February 23 near Cosi restaurant in Terminal C.
Christylez Bacon at Dulles International will energize you with his musicality on Tuesday, February 22 on the east end of the Main Terminal (near the entrance to security screening).
All performances are from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. with a break from 12:45 to 1 p.m.
Christylez (pronounced: chris-styles) Bacon is a Grammy-nominated progressive hip-hop artist and multi-instrumentalist from Southeast, Washington, DC. As a performer, Christylez multi-tasks between various instruments such as the West African djembe drum, acoustic guitar, and the human beat-box (oral percussion), all while continuing the oral tradition of storytelling through his lyrics.
Teri S is a Washington, DC native who began performing at age 7. Describing her sound as “a toss between Aretha Franklin and Patti Labelle,” She has performed at The Warner Theater, The Kennedy Center and at the White House. She even won over the intense crowd of the Apollo Theater Live in New York. Teri S is accompanied by an all-star 5-piece band and background vocalists.
