The Mentalist fans had to be sad on Sunday night. After a big concern about a killer who targets former CBI agents and a harrowing rescue, two of the cast members of the popular CBS show gave a final goodbye to the fans. Every viewer who loved the show had their handkerchief out and wiped the tears from their eyes as it was Wayne Rigsby and Grace Van Pelt’s final episode. According to the TV Guide on Sunday, the exit from the program was satisfying to both actors as they got to leave the characters in a good place.
Wayne Rigsby and Grace Van Pelt no doubt had their problems when it came to their relationship on The Mentalist. At one point it seemed like it might not happen, but it did and the fans were happy to see the romance unfold between the characters. Adding a child to the family was perfect so the only thing left was to get their jobs back at the CBI, but that never happened as the rest of their former colleagues moved to Texas for the FBI.
As the series comes to a close, it is great to see that two characters have offered closure to the fans in a very strong way. Fans love to see conclusions to the storylines instead of the characters just hanging in the lurch. Which is tough for some shows who find that the story could go on and on forever.
