20th Century Fox has released a trailer for "The Maze Runner," which is based on the first entry in James Dashner's dystopian young adult series. The film stars Dylan O’Brien as Thomas, a boy who wakes up in the center of a giant maze. The Glade, as they call it, is full of teenage boys who have no recollection of the world outside the massive walls. Things take a turn for the worse when the Glade gets its first female occupant (played by Kaya Scodelario).

“The Maze Runner” is the feature directorial debut for art department and visual effects veteran Wes Ball, and it also stars Thomas Sangster, Will Poulter, and Aml Ameen. The trailer, just shy of two minutes, provides a solid look into the world fans will be entering upon the film’s release.

Originally slated for release on Valentine's Day, "The Maze Runner" is set to hit theaters September 19.
