It appears that the Mayweather family is becoming divided over a fight against Manny Pacquiao. On Monday, Roger Mayweather continued his attacks on Manny by accusing him of taking PEDs. On Tuesday, Jeff Mayweather said he's trying to put a fight together between Floyd Jr and Pacquiao. Has Jeff become the voice of reason for the Mayweather clan?
According to fighthype.com Jeff Mayweather made the following comments:
"I'm negotiating with both sides and it's just a matter now of sending a letter of intent to Manny and one to Floyd through me and see where it can go,"
I don't see this attempt going anywhere. There's still a major difference between both camps on the drug testing and there's the numerous legal troubles that Floyd Jr is dealing with. Even Top Rank promoter Bob Arum doesn't see this South African venture happening. On Tuesday, Arum told my fellow Examiner.com colleague Michael Marley, "I'm not holding my breath." Despite an initial inquiry there have been no follow ups from anyone. Additionally, Arum has yet to talk to Jeff Mayweather about anything.
While Jeff appears to be constructive in regards to Manny Pacquiao, his brother Roger Mayweather has been destructive, as he continues his public attacks toward Manny. On Monday, Roger made the following comments to Fanhouse.com:
"My nephew will whoop his a*s easy. He's already been knocked out anyway. He's already been knocked out twice at 105-pounds. How is this guy beating people down at 147, 150-pounds? Because he's on sh*t, that's how. I know. I'll say it to his trainer's face, who couldn't even fight himself"

It's a shame that Roger, Floyd Jr and Floyd Sr continue their attacks on Manny. Perhaps if they were to take the approach that Jeff Mayweather has taken, we would have actually had a mega-fight by now.
