The following fable is based on a dream that this writer had over Ten Years ago.
“THE MASTER’S THREE CHILDREN”
Long ago, there was a wealthy Landowner who had three children. One day, the Master summoned all three to meet at the gates of the Mansion.
“One of you", the Master announced, "Will inherit the Estate. I have devised a test.”
The Master indicated three logs that lay in front of the gates of the family Mansion. Next to the logs an axe had been placed.
“Whoever strikes closest to the center of the log,” declared the Master, “Will inherit my Estate.”
The eldest, an adult, went first, and, raising the axe high overhead, split the first log in two.
The middle child, an adolescent, repeated the procedure, but barely grazed the log.
Then the youngest child, a youth, who had arrived late, raised the axe overhead, and with eyes closed, chopped exactly into the center of the log. The Master declared the youngest child to have won the challenge, and the family all embraced each other.
“How did you accomplish this?” inquired the Master.
The eldest child asked, “Did you ‘become One’ with the axe?”
“No,” began the youngest, “when I closed my eyes, I became the axe.
Now, an explanation of what this fable is really about. The Master is the Holy One, the Provider, Blesséd be. The Mansion is the Spiritual World. The Estate is the Manifest Universe. The Eldest child is Chaos, the Middle Order, and the Youngest, the Force of Change. The Force of Change, thus, is the predominant Energy of the Universe. To reach the Source, go to the Center.
